ID cards help to protect your company’s reputation and your customers

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

If you organisation has staff that regularly deal face-to-face with the public then it is only sensible to want to issue them all with plastic ID cards. This means that whenever someone presents themselves to a member of the public as being one of your representatives it can be easily validated to make sure that they are.

It’s also a good idea to have a phone number listed on your staff ID cards that people can call to check any information that they need to when shown one of your cards.

People are increasingly security conscious and it is always advisable to check someone’s credentials before supplying them with sensitive information like bank details, or letting them into your home for any reason.

Wouldn’t it be embarrassing for your staff if they were unable to prove to your customer’s satisfaction that they were working for you and were turned away?

If you’d like to find out more about getting plastic ID cards for your staff, call ID Management Systems on 0800 408 1471 and we’ll be happy to help.

Can you afford to not issue your staff with ID cards?

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

One of the main reasons that we hear from companies for why they don’t issue plastic ID cards for their staff is cost; that they don’t think that they can afford to do it. While it is understandable in the current economic climate for companies to be very careful with their money, the potential benefits of issuing ID cards to staff can far outweigh the cost.

Security is obviously a major concern for all companies and it is essential to make sure that only those people that should are able to access your premises or represent your company.

For larger companies it isn’t always possible for people to recognise everybody and know that people are where they are supposed to be.  ID cards for staff are an easy way to avoid this problem.

For companies that have people that go out and about and deal directly with customers it is essential that customers are confident that they are only dealing with legitimate representatives of your company. Asking to see credentials before dealing with someone is second nature for people these days. Do you really want your staff to be forced to admit that they can’t verify themselves to your customers?

Plastic card printers for training companies

Monday, November 28th, 2011

One of the industries that we have found ourselves working with a lot recently is training providers, often these are small companies with a very specific focus, like training and accreditations in health and safety, working at heights or driving fork lift trucks. It’s common for people to find themselves undergoing this type of short training course for whatever specific qualifications their industry provides.

So what makes plastic card printers useful for training companies? Simple. It’s normal that when you complete this kind of training course you get given something to show the accreditation. A few years ago people would just receive a certificate, now it’s normal that you also get a plastic ID card, personalised with photo, name and so on, and listing the accreditation that has been earned. People completing courses like to receive these because it’s an easy way of demonstrating the accreditation if they ever need to.

Offering plastic cards like these is an easy way of adding considerable extra value to a training course and with plastic card printers now cheaper than ever before it doesn’t have to cost too much.

If you’d like to find out more about producing printed plastic cards for your training company, call ID Management Systems on 0800 408 1471 and we’ll be happy to help.

Plastic ID cards for events staff

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Events management is big business, with things like festivals, music gigs, and live shows attracting thousands of people. Thousands of people in the audience also means dozens of front of house and behind the scenes staff and with large events it’s vitally important to make sure that only the right people can get access to specific areas.

Plastic cards with photo ID are one of the most basic ways of making sure that security can keep track of people as they have to come and go between open and restricted areas and with many events relying on short-term staff it’s necessary to be able to produce secure, high quality, professional looking ID cards very quickly, which is why a plastic card printer is a great thing to have.

We supply a wide range of different plastic card printers, suitable for producing anything from just the odd card to thousands of cards at a time. If you’d like to find out more about plastic card printers and want help in making sure you get the right machine for your requirement, call ID Management Systems on 0800 408 1471 and we’ll be happy to help.

Plastic card printers for print-shops

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

One type of customer that ID Management supplies very regularly is print-shops. Often print-shops are eager to find ways to add extra services that they can offer to their customers without needing to spend a lot of money.

Digital printing presses and plotters can be extremely expensive, so a new piece of printing equipment can represent a major investment for a small business, but we have lots of different plastic card printers that can be bought without breaking the bank.

We supply plastic card printers that cost as little as £600 so they can be a very easy way for print-shops to offer their customers things like ID cards, loyalty cards and membership cards. Odds are they’ve already got the customer and supply them with things like fliers or letterheads, so it’s easy to add an extra service to what they supply an existing customer.

If you’d like to find out more that a plastic card printer could be used to help add extra value to your business, call ID Management Systems on 0800 408 1471 and we’ll be happy to help.

More advanced options for pre-printing cards

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

In addition to adding things like back-prints and signature strips to cards we also have access to a range of different print techniques that mean we can produce printed cards done the best way to get the result that you need as economically as possible.

If you’re looking to produce something like a student ID or travelcard, that means you need to create a visually appealing card that also needs to be as hard to copy as possible, pre-printed cards give you access to a much higher level of detail and print quality that is available with standard printers and also mean that all you have to worry about doing with your printers is actually individualising the cards.

Pre-printed cards are based on the exact specification you need, which means that the costs are also worked out individually for your requirement. If you’d like to find out more about getting pre-printed cards for your organisation, call ID Management Systems on 0800 408 1471 and we’ll be happy to help.

Smart cards for membership schemes

Friday, October 28th, 2011

As smart card technology becomes more affordable, it makes it much easier for more different kinds of organisations to be able to consider them as an option for their ID and access credentials. You can now get a Mifare smart card for not all that much more than a plain PVC ID card, so why not use the technology and see what benefits you can get from it?

We work with a lot of gyms, sports clubs and other membership organisations. These days it’s pretty much a given that membership of this type of group will mean that you have a membership card and you’ll usually need it to be able to use the facilities.

If you run a gym or similar organisation, then making sure that only current paying members can use the facilities has to be a priority. Card based systems can at least be used to verify the identity of a specific member but increasingly people are using more advanced subscription management systems to ensure that not only is the person in front of you the person they say they are, but that they are paid up. Many of these systems are now geared towards using smart cards.

If you’d like to find out more about how you can use smart cards for your organisation, call ID Management Systems on 0800 408 1471 and we’ll be happy to help.
