Does Your Company Need ID Card Software

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

ID cards are used in a wide variety of situations today, but there are still companies and other organisations who haven’t yet seen the need to start using ID cards. If you are in this situation and you are thinking about upgrading the security of your business premises, we can help you do that. But first, here are a few reasons why you might want to start thinking about introducing ID cards.

The main one, and perhaps most important, is that you can issue ID cards to your staff and visitors. Visitors to your business may only be on the premises for a couple of hours, but it is still important that they have something which identifies them. Our ID card printers will let you produce visitor passes.

This is the best way to make sure that only authorised personnel are in the building, and this is especially important if your company handles sensitive information.

If you regularly hold business meetings and conferences, ID cards are useful when it comes to remembering the names of your staff, particularly if they are from another location and you don’t see them too often.

ID Management Systems are leading suppliers of ID systems and card printers for the production of high-quality, tamperproof photo ID cards and visitor passes.

We can supply all your needs when it comes to security in the workplace, from Plastic Badge Clips, Visitor Management Software, Visitor Badge Holders and Visitor Labels to ID card software.

Do You Need ID Card Printers

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Identification cards and badges of all types and sizes have become a necessity in these turbulent times we have been experiencing over the last fifteen years. It’s a fact that most individuals in Britain will have at their disposal some sort of identification card for their workplace, school, business transactions and even in some cases, for shopping. Some of us though may wonder – and at times complain – whether these ID cards and ID systems are really necessary. However, the fact remains that we live in dangerous times and these plastic identification badges or cards serve as one way of effectively protecting us as we go about our daily lives.

Here in Britain we may soon be issued with ID cards if the Labour Government wins the election. This was one of their pledges in the early days of this parliament. Some individuals are opposed to this, but the government claims that the introduction of ID cards will help them tackle not only international terrorism but it will also help cut other crimes, and may even reduce anti-social behaviour.

ID Management Systems offer a wide range of services to their many customers who use ID cards for different reasons. If you are looking for help in setting up ID systems in your workplace for visitors, we can do everything for you. We supply everything companies and organisations need to improve their security. If you need ID card printers, ID card software or card printer accessories we can supply them, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with our helpful friendly staff.

Restricted Access In The Workplace

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Depending on what a business does, it may not be appropriate for every person working there to have access to all areas of the buildings. For instance, in the workshops or factories where specialised chemicals or potentially dangerous tools are being used, it makes sense to keep access restricted to specific personnel who actually work in the area rather than anyone who works on the premises. Equally, many companies are extremely particular who they allow into their laboratories or Research and Development areas, for security reasons.

Issuing all personnel with colour coded ID cards means that not only are they identifiable by name but it can be seen at a glance, even from a distance, whether they are authorised to be in a restricted area. For many years we have supplied the plastic cards, ID card printers and ID card software for companies to do plastic card printing on the premises and in the shortest possible time. Having your own equipment means that any new staff can be issued with a card immediately they start work for the company and also that any visitors can be issued with the appropriate ID card or pass before they are allowed out of the reception area.

Although a simple tool our clients across the world have found that these cards can make a big difference to security within your company premises at minimal cost and with maximum efficiency. We are always delighted to discuss any requirements you may have or to arrange a demonstration of what can be achieved within your company.

For And Against National Identity Cards

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

The debate surrounding National Identity cards still rumbles on. Whether to make them voluntary or to insist that they should be compulsory, what information will be carried on them and is this just the beginning of something more sinister are all subjects that continue to be discussed. Although there is a great deal of opposition to National ID cards, more and more businesses and groups are finding that ID cards are becoming an accepted part of our working lives – and even part of our leisure lives.

Here at ID Management Systems we have been providing the software, hardware and accessories for producing plastic cards, including ID card printers, for a number of years. We have customers who are SMEs and huge bodies like the DVLA and we have noticed that the sort of enterprises using these types of cards has become much more diverse in recent years. Many employers now issue ID cards as a matter of course to all employees and visitors to their premises. A few years ago it would only have been to employees who were working outside the main premises calling on people at home, for instance meter readers or council workers, who would have any form of employer’s identity card.

The equipment and ID card software needed to produce these plastic cards is affordable and simple to use. As it only takes moments to produce a card once the initial set up has been done they are being used far more widely, for instance as club membership passes. They may be just what you need.
