ID Cards Make It Official

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

One of the most interesting things about ID cards is the way that people react to them. A smart card with a photo image of the wearer that has the name and logo of the company or group that they represent gives the wearer an automatic level of acceptability that they would not have without it.

Instead of being seen as an individual, the card identifies them as part of the institution and that is how they are treated. This is essential when they have to work in a person’s own home. Having strangers come into the house is actually highly stressful for some people, even if they are expecting a man to come and mend the washing machine, for example, a total stranger at the door can be frightening. The wearer of a company ID card, on the other hand, is somehow seen as part of a company and intrinsically safer.

Getting ID systems organised is surprisingly easy, here at ID Management we can offer all the advice you need to make an informed choice of the equipment and software that you need. It actually takes a surprisingly short amount of time to make plastic cards for each person complete with a photograph, very similar to a driving license. These can then be protected in a plastic wallet and worn round the neck on an ID lanyard, or if preferred clipped to the jacket or trousers. If you are supplying employees who are working with machinery then our quick release lanyards offer greater safety.
