Having durable, top quality ID cards is sure to be at the top of the agenda for many businesses, but how do you know where to find the best ones? Here are a few things you need to remember when choosing your ID cards supplier.
- Look for suppliers that are well-respected in the field. This often means asking around for recommendations of potential suppliers, but if that isn’t possible try searching online for testimonials of happy customers to see which company they used.
- The supplier should always be experienced and should have the latest technologies to give you the best ID card systems possible. There’s no point going for companies who have card printers and the like that are out of date as that poses a security risk, so always go for the best technology that you can.
- Go for companies that offer quality products at the best prices. You often have to pay more for quality, but that’s a small price to pay for the added peace of mind you can get by knowing that you’ve got the best ID cards possible.
- Choose companies that can implement your ID system effectively to give you top quality plastic cards, but who can also offer you expert advice on which ones would be right for you.
These are just a few things you should remember when choosing your ID cards supplier, and for a company that can give you all of this and more make sure to come to us here at ID Management Systems to see what we can do for you.

These days, security and identification is more important than ever. That’s what makes ID cards so important for many businesses and is why the right ones always need to be chosen, but there are a few things that you need to remember when implementing your ID cards system if you want to get the best cards possible. Here are just a few of them.
First up, it’s important to note that your ID cards should be tamperproof, so you need a system that can offer that feature. There’s no point in having cards that can easily have the picture changed as that entirely defeats the object, as in order to maintain effective security you need to know exactly who you’ve got on your property.
Another point is their durability. If you’re giving out new ID cards to your employees you don’t want to have to change them in the next 6 months as that means more time and money wasted, so always go for durable, laminated ID cards that can go the distance.
It’s also important to have ID card systems that can be easily maintained, either by your own staff or by a support team that can come to your site if needs be, as this not only ensures that the system continues to run effectively but also increases your security.
These are just a few points you need to bear in mind when choosing your ID cards and system, and if you’re after a company that can provide all of these things and more then make sure to see what we have to offer here at ID Management Systems.

There are two major factors involved in conferences or trade shows. One is learning new information and the other is the opportunity to network and make new contacts. No one would bother attending either if they were not going to learn something to their advantage and get a chance to renew old acquaintances or make new ones. One thing that is extremely useful for both the conference and trade show scenarios is helping delegates or visitors to identify who they are talking to and what they do.
As a venue organiser, it should be a service you either offer or arrange as a matter of course. Here at ID Management Systems we have been supplying our customers with the appropriate machinery and software programmes to produce plastic ID cards – and even with photos this only takes a few minutes and can easily be built into the registration period of a conference. At many conferences, some sessions or entrance to specific areas can be entered by booking or invitation only and it is easy to set up several slightly different ID cards that can act like passes allowing appropriate entry.
At trade shows you will find that by identifying each visitor by name and the company they represent using plastic cards, they can easily be identified when they come onto the individual stands and the exhibitors know instantly who they are talking to, and what they may be interested in. Any service you can offer your clients as the venue organiser is worthwhile and ID cards will suit practically every hirer.

When you are a patient in hospital these days it is very difficult to tell who is who. You used to be able to tell the different levels of nurse because they worn different uniforms, and you could always tell who the doctor was because they were the one in the white coat. However, times have changed, and you are now likely to meet a surgeon in scrubs and an orderly in a white coat. It can be a bit unnerving wondering if you are being examined by the right person when they have forgotten to introduce themselves. Luckily, in most hospitals, all the staff wear ID cards with their job title and a photo and this is invaluable in promoting patient confidence.
However, the problem of not knowing if you are talking to the right person is common across many businesses which interact with the public. Here at ID Management Systems we provide ID systems for all kinds of services and companies and have found that something as simple as ID cards should not be underestimated.
Just knowing the name of the person you are talking to, for instance, at the town hall or even in a shop, can make the difference between a good experience for your customer and one that is rated as less satisfactory. One of the things that most public services are stringently measured on these days is client satisfaction, so learn from them and make sure your people can be identified through ID cards to give your customers a better service.

Golf is one of the fastest growing participant sports in the United Kingdom, and probably the whole world. It has changed from something only the wealthy played to being accessible to anyone and along with this has gone a big increase in people travelling to play at clubs other than the one where they are a member. Green fees have become, for many golf clubs, a good source of income, but how do you know who is playing on your fairways?
One thing that is simple to do is to issue every member of your club with ID cards – a plastic card, similar to a driving license, with their name and photo. Additionally you can have the name and logo of the club and any other relevant information, such as the type of membership they hold. If the card is protected by a plastic wallet and has a clip fitted then they can be attached to the player’s golf bag, and they are clearly identified as a member of the club and entitled to play the course. For any non-member playing, a visitor badge holders can be issued which would confirm that they have paid their green fees.
Card systems including the right software and all the hardware needed to produce ID cards can be supplied by us at ID Management Systems. Our staff are always happy to advise on the best solutions to your individual requirements for plastic cards, or to arrange a demonstration for you. Keep your course secure with ID Management.

From hospitals to hospitality, good quality, tamper-proof ID Cards are essential to identify your staff. Not only do these ID cards mean you know who is who amongst your staff, but it also allows your customers to know with whom they are speaking. It may seem trivial but this increased transparency can make all the difference to how your clients perceive both the staff and the service that you offer. It also allows clients and customers to take the first step to making every encounter a more personal experience.
Naturally ID Cards are absolutely essential if any of your staff are going to be calling at anyone’s private dwelling. After all we are told not to let anyone into our homes without first seeing their identification, so a plastic card with the name of the workplace together with a photograph of the person and their name is the least that is needed. If you send someone out with no identification card then you make your business appear totally unprofessional and entirely untrustworthy.
Here at ID Management Systems we can supply all the software, visual recognition technology, cards and ID card printers that you may need appropriate to the number of cards you are likely to need. The cards can be made in minutes so not only can your staff have cards but any visitors to your premises can have a card made, complete with their photograph, when they report to your reception. Get the identification process right and you will always know with whom you are speaking.

Lanyards are extremely popular for holding ID cards. They are visible, simple to put on, and not easily dislodged. Wearers also appreciate the fact that lanyards do not fasten the card directly to clothing, so there are no piercings or marks left in the fabric, as with pin or snap-clasp fasteners. (While magnetic badge-holders no not damage clothing either, some people dislike the slightly awkward fastening process. If the magnet is lost, the card cannot be worn. Also, some people cannot wear magnets on health grounds.)
Lanyards are usually worn around the neck, with the length adjustable to ensure the ID cards are visible whatever the wearers’ roles. For example, a seated desk-worker would have a shorter lanyard, holding the card higher, than a worker who operated standing or walking.
Lanyards are highly adaptable. Some fit around the wrist, arm, or even the waist, so that whatever the wearer’s duties, a lanyard could be the best form of card holder for them. One of the great advantages of lanyards is that multi-purpose ID cards can be scanned or swiped quickly and easily, without having to be unfastened from clothing.
The actual plastic cards or badges are attached to the lanyards by swivel hooks, alligator clips, or split rings. The best form of fastener depends on the material of the lanyard itself. Lanyards come in various materials – metallic chain, plastic strip, fabric chord, ribbon and so on. Lanyards made of plastic or fabric can display the organization’s branding colours, or indicate colour-coded sections, areas or roles.
At ID Management Systems, we can provide exactly the right lanyard for you.
