In our security-conscious society, accurate identification is required for almost every public activity. Whatever the organisation, no matter how large or small, every employee, volunteer, student, club member, delegate – and often visitors, too – will need to be properly and clearly identified. Even out in the community, formal ID systems are now required for banking, travelling and even simple shopping. No matter what activity your organisation is engaged in, we at ID Management Systems recommend plastic cards to identify all your personnel.
Issuing well-designed ID cards has multiple benefits. Primarily, it boosts organisational security. Individuals and roles can be pinpointed, and access to specific areas controlled.
Additionally, there is an excellent customer care effect. Customers, service users and visitors feel reassured when dealing with named individuals, whose legitimate authority as part of the organisation is clear. It is also helpful when the card-wearer’s specific remit is indicated too. When customers or clients report complex problems, it is easier for them and for your own records if the various personnel involved are clearly identified. Should a complaint unfortunately occur, proper ID systems can avoid a great deal of confusion.
Furthermore, attractive ID cards can wonderfully strengthen corporate branding, both internally and in external profile-raising opportunities. They can also be used by your personnel for access to your in-house facilities (canteen, social club, gym and sports, library, parking, discount schemes, and so on.) With a little thought at the planning stage, these simple but effective plastic cards can have a wide variety of uses.

An individual’s identity, according to fraud experts, remains to be among the major cornerstones of a functioning and free community or nation. One can hardly think of a transaction which would go through without the use of identity documents. This has been necessitated by an increase in fraud cases as well as the international security problems that have dogged the world since the turn of the century.

There are a number of uses for plastic cards in our day to day life. Some of the plastic cards we have or provide include those used for security purposes, identification and membership.
One clear example of a plastic card that is used widely is the loyalty card. Loyalty cards are usually seen in stores, department stores, groceries and even cinemas. This kind of plastic card is a means for the company to reward their loyal and regular customers for their continued business.
What are membership cards?
There is a very thin dividing line between membership cards and loyalty cards, or identification cards. However, if it were to be put in simple terms, membership cards are given to people who are members of a particular organization. Holding the membership card entails enjoying the benefits which come with membership to the given organisation.
This is a plastic card that only is used when you want to enjoy the benefits that come with membership to the organisation, and in most cases the information about the organisation is also evident. Another type of plastic cards, these days, is the driver’s license. This is a card that would have the pertinent information about the driver placed on the card. A barcode or a license number is usually seen in such. A clean and formal picture is also evident on the card so as to identify the person with the license.
At ID Management Systems, we have more than a decade of experience dealing with any type of plastic card, so whatever you need – we’ve got it.

There was a time when the mention of the phrase ‘plastic cards‘ would bring to mind the credit cards which were used to settle bills. However, with the evolution in technology, this has come to mean something else, hence there are times when one has to be specific with what they are referring to when they use the phrase. Nowadays, ‘plastic cards‘ refers to an identification card.
What is an identification card?
In the modern business setting, the use of identity cards is one of the security priorities as it controls the people who gain access to different parts of the workplace. It is one of the most widely used type of plastic card and it is also one of the most vital. In most cases, all workplaces now require that each worker, both permanent and casual should have this form of identity. However, there use is not limited to the workplace alone as some schools now use plastic cards, also.
This is vital as important information is contained on the card, and this may include personal information such as a name, telephone number and address. This has seen schools becoming safer because of the use of embedded bar code signatures in the identification cards of the students.
There are very strict rules which are used, for example no one without a valid plastic card is allowed onto the school premises. This restricts visitors to parents and authorised people only.
At ID Management Systems, we have specialised in providing different clients with plastic cards used for identification at different work places.
