We can offer a lot of different options when it comes to printed lanyards, with lots of different types of fittings and attachments and a choice of different printing methods that can be used to achieve the effect that you want.
The standard types of attachment include metal or plastic j-clips, spring clips, mobile phone attachments, lobster clips and crocodile clips. As standard we supply all of our lanyards with a safety breakaway.
Our most economical lanyards are produced using screen-printing. Screen-printing is applied to the surface of lanyard of whatever colour that you want and is costed per colour printed.
For particularly bright or vibrant designs, we recommend dye-sublimation printing. This uses a plain base material that is printed all over with your design. The lanyards have a smoother finish than screen printing and allow for more colours to be printed onto each lanyard.
Our highest quality option is woven lanyards. Rather than being printed with your design, these lanyards have it stitched into the surface of the lanyard using coloured threads. If you’re after the most durable custom lanyards that you can get, then these would be what you want.

As well as our bespoke lanyard service, we do offer an incredibly wide range of different lanyards, many of them held in stock and available for next day delivery. Our standard lanyards are available with either plastic or metal clips and all come with safety breakaways. Available colours include black, white, red, green, royal and navy blue, yellow and orange.
We also offer a selection of standard pre-printed lanyards, usually 15mm width printed in white. Available options include staff, visitor, contractor, security, student and NHS staff. Recently we have also expanded our range to include lanyards that have hi-vis material included in them.
These standard lanyards are often significantly cheaper than bespoke lanyards, especially on smaller quantities.

As well as a broad selection of standard lanyards in different styles and colours, we also offer bespoke lanyards that can be made to your exact specification in terms of their size, printing and fittings.
Our most popular printed lanyard is surface-printed in one or more colours, typically with a company’s name or logo. These lanyards can be in widths between 10mm and 20mm. We would generally recommend the width of the lanyard based on what best suits the complexity of your artwork, but the choice is really up to you. For more complicated and colourful designs we produce lanyards using dye-sublimation printing that can do full colour print in a very high standard finish.
We also offer many different fittings including spring and dog clips in plastic or metal, mobile phone holders and quick-release clips. We can even supply lanyards with a retractable yoyo reel on the end and this can also be personalised. We always favour lanyards that have a safety breakaway on them, so that if the lanyard gets caught in something or gets pulled the clip will release it from your neck. This is something that we strongly recommend for people in all environments as part of their health and safety precautions. For those clients we particularly specific requirements we can also supply lanyards with more than one breakaway clip, though this usually isn’t necessary. Our standard lanyards are 900mm in total length, but again this is something that we can modify to suit your needs.
Due to the highly individualised nature of these products, it’s hard for us to give general prices for printed lanyards. The cost is very much influenced by the exact specification of your requirement and how many of them you require. An ID card need not be a primitive security technology, and by incorporating a variety of features you will be able to increase the practicality and effectiveness of ID cards; engineering them to be applicable for a variety of specific requirements.
Printed Laynards
For example, it you want to ensure the portability of a card then you might consider printed lanyards, which will allow the card to hang from a wearer’s neck, thereby optimising wear-ability. Also, as the lanyards are printed, this means that you can, for example, print a company name onto the laynard.
Watermarks
If you want a surefire guard against card cloning, then you could incorporate a “watermark” onto your cards (i.e a unique mark that can’t be cloned). You may assume that such an effective security feature may come at a premium, but in fact, with a card printer accessory like the “Holokote” from Magicard, maximum card security is affordable.
PVC Cards
For an ID card to be truly successful it should have a certain level of ruggedness, especially if it used day-to-day such as in a school setting. With this in mind PVC cards represent a simple solution to the critical problem of card durability, and not only that, but at ID Management Systems we are able to offer biodegradable PVC cards – perfect for the environmentally conscious.

There is a likelihood that if we do not have direct involvement with a school, we know somebody who does. It seems especially crucial, therefore, that school security is made a priority, as not only does installing an efficient school security system present some unique challenges, but it is children who are most deserving our protection.
As schools are often open buildings with no “on-door” security personnel, it is crucial that an unobtrusive but highly efficient visitor management system is in place and that any visitors are granted access cards or ID cards.
