What is printer encoding?
"No Encoding" is standard for the printer
If you are only printing images, text or barcodes onto your cards, you need "No Encoding" for your printer.
When do you need Encoding?
An encoding option is needed if you need to write information to your cards
- Magnetic Stripes
- Cards with Chips
- Contactless Cards / Near Field Technology
- Mifare
In a lot of cases, the printer does not even need to do this, as you will have an accesss control system or external writer that you swipe your card through already.

Cover Options Explained
The manufacturer support option is standard with most ID Resellers and only includes return to manufacturer warranty and in some cases can take between 2 - 6 weeks. We always advise that you look at taking on a cover option which is as little as 26p per day and gets you 24 hours support!
